Redwood(Three Chinese Wooden Chairs)
2025

Tree stabilising hardware, mini-vibrating device embedded in old chinese wood chair fragments, VHF radio receiver

Dimensions variables

Redwood reassembles old Chinese wooden chairs into a long, skeletal structure recalling a tree stabiliser for an invisible trunk. Each joint carries a tiny vibration device, quivering in response to distant VHF radio signals.

The work suggests a ghosted ecology—wood transformed, displaced, and reconfigured through invisible networks of movement. In its faint tremors, Redwood holds space for what has been taken and what continues to echo through traded materials.
